4/8/03 - Well the meeting about the Palladium was today and there are gonnabe a shit load of bands playing. The date is May 3 and the time is 11am-12 pm (told ya there were alot of bands) . If you're interested in going please contact a band member because buying ticekts from us help alot. They're 15 dollars and you can come in anytime so you obviously don't have to stay the whole 13 hours. Well we're also hopefully gonna premeir some of our new tracks in the form of a 4/5 song ep which should be pretty cool. Oh yes and our next show is gonna be at the NAHS talent show which is April 16. Hope to see you all there.
3/25/03 - Okay well here's an update for last month. The guitars are finished and so are most of the drums but we've decided to pause recording and practice like hell. We have about three, maybe even four, shows coming up in April includng a big one at the Palladium. Also we have added another guitar player to our line-up. His name is Adam Hardy and he's an old friend of ours. With a new member we hope to be able to diversify our music alot and basically rip-even more shit up than we have been. At some point I will get around to posting his bio aswell. Well that's all for now. Toodles.
2/21/03 - My how time flies. Guess I kinda of forgot about this website but we've been wicked busy. The recording is going great. The bass tracks were finished about a week ago and now the guitar and drums are going to work. There are probably about 5 songs that are instrumentally finished right now and the rest are in various stages of development. Once we get some vocals tacked on I'll start putting up some samples cause we know that there are SOO many people that care (no offense meant to the 3 that do we love you). Well anyway I think it sounds absolutely orgasmic and I want to kick my own ass for ever being proud of our last demo CD, this one blows it away in ways you cannot imagine. Hmmm what else...no shows until we can get this finished, I'd give it another month or two, and finally everyone enjoy their vacations. Peace out dawgs, word to yo motha.
1/12/03 - The show was last night. It went pretty well but not as good as I would have liked but mmmmmm I'm a perfectionist bitch anyway. Still I think that people really enjoyed us and we got allot of people easily a little over 70 and I'd say maybe even as many as 100. We played with a bunch of Middle School Bands which was interesting.... actually honestly some of these bands were terrible but I was pleasantly surprised by Ghost of Leon. They've gotten allot better since I last saw them. Theocracy also played and did a good job. Umm what else oh yeah the opening band should be shot and kicked repeatedly into the curb. What else? Hmmm well recording will resume after a short break to prepare for this show and God knows at this point when it will be finished. We keep churning out new tracks for this damn thing. In the past few practices we've put the finishing touches on two songs. One titled A Thousand Scripted Words and the other, Leave Me Out. That's all for now tata.
12/26/02 - Okay sorry for the lack of updates but we've just been chugging along business as usual for the past month. We started recording last week and have most of the bass tracks already finished. We're looking at around 19-21 tracks for the whole album there are a couple still in the gray right now but that'll get sorted out fairly soon. These songs will be all the ones from "We Don't Like You Either" except for Too Much Coke plus all the new ones we've written in that last 6 months. Also we have a show coming up on Saturday, January 11. This is another Youth Center Show and the point is too give some of the younger bands in town a chance to headline so we're gonna headline and there will be a bunch of other middle school bands all playing sets. If you are 8th grade or younger (or you simply lack pubic hair) please show come and support your local scene.
11/21/02 - Practice today. We wrote a new song titled Done Caring. Its sounds nice and I can't wait to record it along with the other stuff we've been writing. Trust me there's lots of it. Also I think we're gonna be headlining a Middle School show sometime after February maybe. More details on that next week. Also Chad liked playing in the ska band we created on his roof enough that he asked us if we'd start a band with him. The band is called the Drugstore Cowboys. The website can be found here. There's no real content yet but keep an eye on it. Chad also designed the site so he gets credit for actually writing his own code.
11/9/02 - Rooftop Riot was tonight and it was a horrific failure but at the same time it was amusing. For the first set maybe 6 people showed up and we played a crappy little set with U-turn opening for us. We then jammed with some kids that came and started an impromptu ska band on Chad's roof. That was cool. Then we were finally kicked off and unfortunately we couldn't play for the few emo kids that showed up for the second set at seven. At this point the whole thing degraded into a sausage fest and I will not speak anymore of it.
11/03/02 - Okay my computer was seriously fucked up for the past week so I wasn't able to update but here's the latest. Lets see here we are currently working on two more songs and are planning to record sometime this January. Also our show "The Rooftop Riot" will be held on November 9th at 7:00. There will also be a party earlier that day so please feel free to show up. The venue is the roof of Chad's house (hence the name) and his house is located 67 Maple Ave. North Andover. This is almost directly behind St. Michael's. Please come it'll be fun.
10/20/02 - The show was last night and it was definitely a pleasant surprise. We managed to get like 50-60 people there and we sold a few CDs. That was really a relief cause I thought that nobody was going to come. We premiered some new songs and the response seemed very good. I'm really happy about how the whole thing turned out. As for the other bands lets see.... Theocracy was much tighter than they were last time and they let me play drums on their song Run Away. Taria was like this very gentle emo type music that played lots of arpeggios and made you want to fall asleep. Finally the last band was called Fellowship. They were older guys and they're bass player was out of his mind. I enjoyed their set very much I can't really classify it though but that's okay.
10/2/02 - Yo dawgs is it down in the ghetto. We be written some madass shite yo and spewin crazy rhymes with our posse. The beats are flowin and we be keepin it real in our crib...............or not. Actually we finally have details on the two shows I mentioned in the last post. We got screwed out of the first one even though we were told multiple times that we would be able to play it and the second one will be held on October 19 at the Youth Center at 7:00 with 3 other bands. Our good friends in Theocracy plus two new bands, Best Kept Secret and Taria. The cost will be 5 dollars. In case anyone cares we are also working hard writing new songs and we currently are working on two or three more in addition to the ones I've already posted. So peace out and see you at the show.
9/17/02 - We have some new about two potential shows. The first should be on the 28'th at the Middle School but the details are still sketchy and the other on the 18'th at the Youth Center. More info should be available on those this week. Also we have about four songs that are finished and I've posted the lyrics to them. Hopefully we'll record them at some point.
9/4/02 - Okay a quick recap of the last month we have been writing lots of songs and doing as much practicing as we can with the volume of vacations going on for the last couple of weeks. We have about 6 or 7 songs in various stages of development and hopefully we will be demoing them soon enough. At this rate we may well have another album by the end of the year but we'll see. Well with school starting up again all of our schedules will be returning to normal so hopefully we will have news more frequently.
8/3/02 - Our show at the Andover Town Hall was last night. It was someone of a let down just cause first as usual we lost set time to emo bands and the audience was mostly emo kids. As a general rule they didn't like Emo Sucks. Also they tacked on an additional concert of hardcore bands on at the end of our show so because I was doing sound I had to sit through an extra couple hours of horrendous screeching and prolonged feedback. I've decided the whole genre of hardcore music is mostly death metal legitimized by saying its emotional. There were some good bands there like Preston and Header and Mile6 did pretty good but there was so much badness it was ridiculous.
7/23/02 - We finally got our pictures back from the show at the YC
7/9/02 - More practicing and more songs are coming along. We have one finished song called Misconceptions and another song with no lyrics that is for know called simply The Omar Song. Also we have a show coming up August 2 @ the Andover Town Hall. The Yesterday's Scandal (formerly the Pezkids) hooked us up so thanks to them.
6/22/02 - The show last nigh was awesome. The Pezkids were very tight for their first show and of course Theocracy gets better every time we see them. I was too busy packing to catch any of Tyler's set but his posse was enraptured so I'm sure he did great.
6/17/02 - The temporary MP3 page is down and the real MP3.com page is up. Unfortunately there is one problem our old SYMMES page had a couple hundred hits and the new SD one has 1. So anyone that wants to put my ego to rest go listen to a few songs and hopefully we can surpass our old stats.
6/13/02 - We practiced for our upcoming show next Friday and added Carousel by Blink 182 to our set list. Its a very cool song. What happened to that band they used to be such good songwriters.
6/10/02 - Our show on the 15 has been postponed until sometime in September. Fuck you Pat Fooey
6/5/02 - The demo is finally finished. We have titled it We Don't Like You Either. It has 10 tracks and its of the highest quality that we could possibly afford. The track list looks like this:
1. 2000 Miles
2. Credibility vs. Cash
3. Dumb Teens
4. The Ganja Song
5. Burning Bridges
6. Emo Sucks
7. I Need A Life
8. One More Day
9. Too Much Coke
10. Billy
If you want a copy it's only $3. You can find details here
6/1/02 - We have scheduled a new show for the 15 of June at the North Andover Middle School. Its gonna be from 1-4 and we're playing with Theocracy and two other bands that I don't know. One from Masco and one out of St. Johns.
5/31/02 - More progress on the demo all we have left is a couple of vocals and guitar parts left to record and then its done. Until then I've added 2000 Miles to the MP3 page to tide you all over till you can buy the real thing.
5/21/02 - After several weeks of intense recording and practicing we have completed 7 tracks from our upcoming demo. We have four more tracks to finish and we will debut it at our show at the Youth Center on the 21'st of June. Should be fun.
5/10/02 - We practiced today and worked on some new recording methods like laying down multiple tracks, vocal harmonies, extra percussion and more spiffy stuff like that. The result was a funkilicious booty shakin' Ganja Song. A version is now up on the MP3 page.
5/8/02 - Finally after months of nothing the demo is finally getting off the ground. We have three well recorded tracks that sound better than anything we've ever done before. Check out a preview with the song Credibility vs. Cash on our MP3 page. Download now. I'm not posting the new recording on MP3.com yet because I hate waiting for them to approve the songs, it takes weeks.
4/24/02 - More practicing more songs. We screwed around doing two Weezer covers (My Name is Jonas and In the Garage). Then we ended up writing yet another song this ones called 2000 Miles. It has a good punk feel to it. We worked to make this one "moshible". We are also playing a show at the youth center on the last day of school with our friends, Theocracy (formerly known as Less Than None). Oh and I'm pretty sure the Battle of the Bands thing is done cause we've pretty much gotten screwed by just about every venue we can think of.
4/3/02 - We practiced today and wrote another new song. We decided to rebuke the emo movement so we thrashed out a harder punk song bluntly titled "Fuck the Dashboard Confessionals". We also have a tentative gig at the Youth Center for an end of the year show with Less Than None. Should be fun (Yeah Middle School).
3/28/02 - The show at the coffee house tonight went well. Unfortunately the emo groups went long (Goddamn emo) so we only had 30 minutes to play so that kinda sucked. Also our friends in Less Than None played for a bit after us but sadly for them most everybody had left. But it was still kinda fun just cause we could screw around cause no one was there.
3/17/02 - We practiced today and wrote a new song. Its called One More Day and reminds of me of Midtown, not a direct rip-off but it just sound like it stylistically. I'm extremely happy about how it has turned out and my easily be our best yet. Its also Binky's first song to his credit so congrats to him.
3/13/02 - We booked another show today. We will be playing a coffeehouse at North Andover High School its to support some play the schools doing. I suspect we will fell awkward and out of place considering we aren't exactly mellow coffeehouse material.
3/7/02 - We played the Talent Show tonight and it was a surprisingly rocking show. We opened with Dumb Teens and then played Ironic and closed with Credibility vs. Cash. I think the crowed really seemed to like us we got some great reaction especially with Ironic and Credibility. Overall a really great show. Too bad we couldn't have a longer set.
2/27/02 - Sorry about the lack of news I just decided that it really wasn't worth and update every time we had a practice. So lets recap the last month. We have covered two new songs (Moron Brothers by NOFX and Blitzerkrieg Bop by The Ramones), we practiced a lot and got screwed over by the Student Council. The Battle of the Bands was supposed to be tomorrow but due to the incompetence of all but one member the whole thing fell through. The main problem being the High School principal is a bitch and decided that the Battle of the Bands bring out a "bad element" and as a result the schools won't touch it. We had a meeting today with the concert committee and the bands are taking over this deal its probably gonna be held at the Knights of Columbus hall sometime in mid March.
1/30/02 - The date for the battle of the bands has been set. It will be at the middle school on the Feb. 28. Please if anybody reads this come down and support us. Also two new songs have been posted on MP3.com. Demo versions of I Need a Life and Dumb Teens.
1/18/02 - We wrote a new song today called Credibility vs. Cash I posted the lyrics and we might put it on a demo soon. Also we reverted back to SYMMES cause we feel like it.
1/9/02 - We practiced with Binky today and recorded most of it. The recordings will be posted on MP3.com within the week.
1/8/02 - Breaking news!!! Jesse has been kicked out of the band. SYMMES felt that a combination of his musical tastes and Matt hatred of him have been blocking our progress. We have recruited Binky to replace him. But Jesse isn't out of the picture yet. A side project should be started with him and Craig fairly soon.
1/5/02 - Another practice was today. We recorded a new version of Billy and rehearsed for the battle of the bands. We like that song so much that we are considering adding it to our set.
12/29/01 - It's Craig's Birthday today and we practiced. Our mixer was getting repaired so we jammed on metal, funk, country and porn music for awhile. Then we decided to cover El Scorcho by Weezer and Sugar by System of a Down. We actually managed to finish both.
12/25/01 - Christmas today and Santa was good to us. Here are our music related goods Jesse - talk box, acoustic simulator, and wireless hookups. Matt - acoustic pickups. Steve - new bass. Craig - new drum kit and dozens of generic sticks made from the cheap part of the tree.
12/19/01 - Practice today. We started preparing a new set for the battle of the bands. We learned Too Many Puppies by Primus and are debating a new Green Day song to cover. The Battle of the Bands is January 17 and I think bands get to play four or five songs. Our set list looks like this about now.
-Too Many Puppies
-Popular People Suck
-Punk Culture
-Ironic
12/18/01 - In random news today our song Popular People Suck was 746 on the MP3.com punk charts today. Hooray!!! Break out the champagne. Actually that kinda sucks so please if anybody actually reads this give us a listen.
12/15/01 - The gig was last night. It was pretty fun but also pretty disappointing. The other bands were some metal band and a group that sounded kind of like a shitty 311. Whenever kids tried to mosh a bitch would tell them "that this is not appropriate behavior for a library." What kind of dumbasses would hold a rock show in a library anyway. As a result I think that the energy wasn't there and there crowd didn't really respond until we did Too Much Coke(always a crowd pleaser).
12/10/01 - Good news. We landed a gig playing with a bunch of other bands at the Chelmsford Library. Hopefully it'll be cool.
12/8/01 - Another practice today. Jesse came in with a riff today and we wrote a good song around it. I'm feeling good about this one too. Unfortunately Matt couldn't make it so the song is unfinished.
12/5/01 - We practiced today and wrote a really stupid song called Car Commercial. Who knows? Maybe we'll keep maybe not. That's all for now
11/30/01 - We played a kick ass party with 2 other bands. Thanks to Brian for letting us play. It was really fun. The other bands were Second Solution, and The Disorderly Heroes check them out they played really well.
